Did McKeldin for the first time this year. Switchback, Plantation and Poplar trails were in fair shape after the winter. Switchback had some erosion which was making the roots and rocks much more pronounced. There were a few fallen trees, some of which were pretty good TTFs and watch out along the river ( Balto /Carroll side) there’s a tree branch that jumps out in front of you if you are not looking; I had visions of my bike continuing down the trail as I landed squarely on my butt as I clipped it with my shoulder….but I got lucky. In short…the trails were fast.
After getting back to the parking lot at the RR Tracks, I took a quick ride up to the Henryton Tunnel on the unmaintained trail. It seems to be getting attention from someone with a machete and I gotta say, it was kinda nice to not have my legs chewed up by the multifloral rose bushes!
