You may have noticed I haven't been around here for a while and that I have been silent for many weeks - Yes I've been lurking about to make sure things are running ok, but have been dedicating my time to another project.

Those of you who know me well know that for the past 3 years I have been on a whirlwind tour of American University - basically taking classes full time during the spring, summer and fall to finish my BS and now my MA...

Well, that pretty much came to an end last week and over the course of the next month I will be concentrating on getting my Thesis project done... a half hour documentary about a Marine who recently returned from Iraq - "Nothing For Granted: A Marine's Journey"

It is nearly complete and it will air locally on MHz Networks (http://www.megahertz.org") on June 1st at 8:30 PM - I beg you to watch send me comments abd let the station know it was worth scheduling (I hope...)

In the meantime, I have posted web versions of the promos on my blog (http://photo.frescodesigns.com/archives/000031.php) that will begin airing on MHz over the next week pumping up the show - If you get a chance please check them out for a taste of what I've been up to and what will airing on June 1st.

Comments are appreciated...

Congrats Martin.

I have a small idea of how much work it takes to go through a program like that. I applaud your hard work.

I look forward to seeing the fruits of your labors.

Best wishes,

Pete

Hey Martin,

I don't watch TV anymore, so I don't know anything about MHz Networks. I have cable at home because I have cable internet. Is it available there? I have Adelphia Cable. Out in Loudoun Co. Can I channel surf and find it?

Your program sounds interesting. I went out and saw Gunner Palace and thought that was pretty interesting. Zero plot but interesting nonetheless. I imagine I'll like your show, too.

You should be able to get MHz even if you don't have cable...

I think it's channel 56...

They generally broadcast international programming - news from South America, Europe, Asia, etc. They also have original programming - like my piece...

You should be able to get MHz even if you don't have cable...Thanks! I put into my e-calendar. That's the only hope I have of remembering it. Maybe you can post back to the MORE forum the day before or something. It's a Wednesday which is a FH night, the way things are shaping up. It'll be a challenge to get home by 8:30.

But will that be more of a challenge than remembering how to program my VCR????

More self-promotion...

My documentary airs tonight JUNE 1st on MHz at 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. See why I've been neglecting the forums a bit for the past few months...

Please watch and let me know what you think. MHz is channel 56 in the Virginia area - you can check their website (http://www.mhznetworks.org) for more info - my documentary is called "Nothing For Granted: A Marine's Journey"

GrassyAss :)

Went to a screening last night at the Barking Dog in Bethesda - nearly 100 people showed up to watch! it was great.

The best part was when it aired a second time and a walk in crowd from the bar downstairs worked their way up to watch - and they did :)

Thanks Scott!

I'm working on the DVD right now...

If anyone's interested please let me know and I can pass a copy around...

Yes, both my professor and I interviewd Gail Marshall (Chris' mom) and Chris when we went to Maine last May.
