Widebody Driver
November 12th, 2002, 03:16 PM
The Fountainhead trail maintenance scheduled for Sunday, November 17th at 9:30 AM has been changed.
There will be no maintenance performed...
Let's build new trail, instead!
We'll begin construction on a new loop. The loop will add approximately 1.5 miles of trail in the Port Charlotte area of the Park and will feature some killer climbs and raging descents. This section of the Park has been previously closed to MTB's and contains some of the most scenic areas.
FREE LUNCH!
Thanks to our friends at our favorite local bike shop, The Bike Lane, lunch will be provided.
Please bring work boots, work clothes, gloves and plenty of water. MORE and NVRPA will supply tools, but feel free to bring your personal favorite (shovel, metal rake, trimmer, bow saw, mattock, hammer/workbelt for bridge building, etc.) We'll also have plenty of Clif Bars on hand, thanks to sponsorship by IMBA and the Clif Bar people.
Rain or shine, meet in the Fountainhead parking lot at 9:30 AM. We'll briefly discuss construction techniques before we get started building trail. We'll break for lunch at noon and then, resume construction.
If you have questions, feel free to contact the Fountainhead Liaison, Stu Moulton.
