I have build a 3x wheel using sheldon brown's website.

It works great and i have had no problems.

Now I want to build another 2x wheel on a rohloff hub (they recommend 2x)

Does anyone have a website that shows how to lace the wheel for 2x?

If not is is simply a few little diffs between 3x and 2x?

Should I even try?

I did 2x for my wife's road bike. Her old rear wheel already had that pattern so I just followed it. I couldn't find anything online either. If I recall, though, it really is the same as 3x, except when you lace in your crossing spokes, you only cross two. Not much else to it.

look up damon Rinard (sp?) web site and download his spoke calculator, great tool. You will need slighty shorter spokes for 2 cross that for 3 cross. Other than that you are right, same thing.

Ok thanks guys. I already have the spokes. DT Swiss has a spoke calc and the guy I bought the parts from double checked the lengths for a 2x wheel. I guess I will just go ahead. I should get the hub tonight, build it and do a test ride. Then Friday Im off to Revenge of the Rattlesnake.
