We have a great problem: last night more than 250 people showed up to REI and volunteered to help save Loch Raven.

Most of these 250 people are not yet MORE members. We need someone who can input the names and contact information into our database so we can keep these volunteers informed of the latest happenings.

Who can help?

PM sent. I do this sort of stuff all the time, data translation or conversion, etc. Usually easiest to import directly into the database but I can also create sql scripts etc. There's almost always a solution that will be faster and easier than manual data entry.

If you are unable to do the data conversion that Tom suggested I'd be happy to do the data entry.

So it occurred to me right after I posted the reply that the names and contact info is probably written down on paper, not in any electronic format. duh. So yes I could help with manual data entry as well.

I was at the meeting at REI last night.
I joined MORE today.
I contacted Nancy Hafford, the is the Towson Chamber of Commerce President.
She asked that I send her all information about the problem at Loch Raven.
I really don't have much information. Can someone please contact the Towson Chamber of Commerce(they like email).. and provide the up to date information.
Nancy is a great community activist and is very well respected. She knows everyone!
Thank you.

Thats great! Thanks John

It was mentioned last night that we need to send thank you letters out to some of the city officials. Does anyone have an address on where to send?

My name is Gary, I am involved in the meetings with the higher ups. I have a couple tasks I need to get done. One being the data entry as I am not a great typer. I can get you the info today or tonight and we need to get started on it asap. We are trying to show the council that we have people willing to make a good faith effort in keeping up the trails.

I can get you information for the Chamber and the email addresses that you need. Please email me at baltistyle at hotamail dot com and I can help you help us. Thank you so much for your interest in keeping the trails of Loch Raven.

In the FWIW column, here are the emails of the original folks that seem to matter.

mayor@baltimorecity.gov,
Stephanie.Rawlings-Blake@baltimorecity.gov
MaryPat.Clarke@baltimorecity.gov
DavidE.Scott@baltimorecity.gov
Kurt.Kocher@baltimorecity.gov

I thought it interesting that Mr. Kocher, the guy with the nasty comments about IMBA, was able to respond so quickly to my Email on a Sunday afternoon! I guess the stereotype of civil servants might be wrong! Wow! A reply in just 6 minutes!

Please read today's Sun in which my full comments were finally mentioned and the off-the-cuff train of thought statement which I had told the reporter immediately was not what I meant was excluded.

As a life long bicyclist, former city resident and current county resident, I have become very concerned over the actions that I have heard about with respect to the fines to citizens who have been using the Loch Raven trails as well as the less then tactful comments made by city employees to the Sun Papers about bicyclists.....

Gary I exchanged emails with you. I am available to help out with your data entry task. (I assume it's the same data discussed before.)

I got the scanned pages from Gary and just finished the transcription this morning. Gary and Patrick, I sent both of you the Excel file containing the names and contact info. Some of the handwriting was hard to decipher but I did my best!

Let me know if you need any more help with this.
