after one ride this fork sticks when compressing it when set to the 80MM setting. It will compress down but does not come back up until i flip the switch to the 100MM setting, it will then release. When it goes down you can hear something mechanically catching as you continue to press down on it. The 100MM setting works fine. Im not really fork mechanically inclined and wanted some feedback before trying to tear it apart. thanks in advance.

I'd look in their usre manual. I imagine it will be relatively easy to straighten out. Perhaps the adjustment switch isn't fully seated when you are in the 80mm position? I believe they work by preloading the spring, so if something isn't quite catching, that would explain the noise.

Either that^ or a lubrication problem. I'd take it to manitou, let them fix it.
Good luck--Graham

with my Black Super Air - not sure if it is the same problem that you are having with your Elite but the symptoms (including the sound) were similar. LBS called Manitou and it was a known issue. Manitou walked my mechanic thru the repair and all in all - didn't take all that long. Since then - no issues.
