Hi,

I posted a subscribe request for the Topica mail list two weeks ago with no reply. What do I need to do to get post rights on this list? The threads are great and I would like to contribute.

In order to lead a MORE ride you need to:

1. Be a MORE member in good standing,

2. Check with the MORE Ride Coordinator (Scott Scudamore at mtbmore@comcast.net) to minimize possible conflicts,

3. Provide the following information to the Ride Coordinator:

- Trail
- Date of ride
- Time of ride
- Difficulty of ride (easy, intermediate, advanced, extreme)
- Pace (casual, casual/moderate, faster, moderate, moderate/faster)
- Where to meet
- Contact info (name, e-mail & phone number)
- Description of the ride including duration

The Ride Coordinator will post all club rides to the MORE Ride Calendar and in a weekly ride summary.

4. Be prepared!

- Know trail and have a map if needed.
- Know where the nearest hospital is / have an emergency safety kit / cell phone.
- At the beginning of the ride describe the ride (so to affirm riders abilities and establish expectations).
- Make introductions.
- Ask who is a MORE member and if they aren't be sure to follow up with any questions or provide information on joining the club.
- Have riders announce turns and listen to rider behind/don't make turn unless the rider behind makes the turn/ if no one is behind have them wait.
- Bring an extra tube, patchkit, extra water if its a hot day, or extra food if its a particularly long ride.
- Designate a Sweeper to monitor the back of the group.
- Don't lose any riders :)

Hope this helps!

Julian, I do not know how you actually tried to subscribe but the way I subscribed was by sending an email to subscribe-more@topica.com. That should automatically enroll you in about a day. If that is what you did and it did not work send me an eamil at mtbmore@comcast.net and I will research it for you. I spoke with Bruce today and he thought you were asking how to post rides on the listserve.
