Curious on how the trails are after the flooding. I see everyone talking about the night rides so I guess they are good. Last I read the new loop was great, what about the bowl and the creek, are they ridable. I'm looking to be out there tomorrow morning at 0730.

Thought I would make a new thread in the conditions instead of asking in the rides' thread.

Thanks

They're quite good. There are a few rough spots at the very top of the creek trail since that was under water twice in the last two weeks. The lower creek trail is doing just fine.

The new trails are perfect in every conceivable way except for one.... they're still not long enough. If they were about 8 or 9 miles in length, I think they'd be better. ;)

The bowl too has some soft spots in the middle of the loop, but the perimeter trails are in pretty dang good shape.

have a good ride.

I was on the night ride last night (Thursday) and the new trails are in great shape. The creek trail is mostly dry, but some parts (mostly the upper half) were washed out during the last big storm, so things are a bit rougher than usual. Beware a bit of mud in the usual spots (easily avoided).

I havent ridden the bowl area in the past week, but considering how dry the creek trail was, and all the warm dry weather we have had, it should be fantastic. Have a great ride!

Looking to ride and don't want to mess up the new trails.

Monday, May 10th, was real good. The new trails were completely dry, and quite fun I might add :) Lower creek bed trails were still nice and dry, while the top end was definitely a bit "washed out", but dry.

We'll get a little rain today, but I don't think that will stop us from riding. They say it should move off pretty early today. Time will tell.

Am I evil incarnate to simply ask if Wakefield will be rideable tonight?

So I'm not asking if Wakefield is rideable. I'm asking if it's ok to ask if Wakefield is rideable. :p

It has been raining on and off today. I'm guessing that Wakefield is not ridable. Parts of accotink might be ridable.

I figgered. There was a tiny hole in the clouds that leaked sun for a microsecond in College Park. Got my dang hopes up!

Anyone know if Wakefield was dumped on by the band of severe thunderstorms that came through the area last night?

I work on the other side of Springfield and there was only a trace over there.

I was at Wakefield last night for the Monday Night Ride. It rained like heck last night. It was definitely more than a trace of rain. My guess is that the ride leaders will evaluate the trails tonight and either ride or not ride according to what they see.

Thanks. Hopefully some of the sections that dry fast are dry.

The new trail was great. The creek trail had many puddles during tonight's Tuesday night ride.

Hi,

I just got back to town this afternoon and was thinking of riding Wakefield tomorrow. I heard that you all had some rain the last few days and am wondering if Wakefield will be ridable tomorrow.

Thanks for the info!
