I'm looking for a car rack to carry 2 (or 4) bikes similar to the Swagman XC2. I have a trunk mounted "post" type carrier that I have used in the past (and have the dented liftgate as proof) but like the idea of a platform type rack for an upcoming family vacation. I have a 2" receiver hitch on the car, so anything that uses a 1 1/4" or 2" would work. Doesn't need to be in the best shape, I can weld up small cracks or oblonged holes, so if you have one of these carriers collecting dust and want to sell, please post up.

Thank you,
Robert

I had oen of these (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1031409_-1_20000__22000) that did a pretty decent job until it was hit in a parking garage. I went to a T2 after that. If you are welding savvy, you could also fab a rack out of a hitch mount cargo tray (http://www.sportomotoring.com/hitch-haul-cargo-carrier.html) and have something to carry coolers, etc when not carrying bikes.

I've seen people take those cargo trays and bolt fork mounts (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1031488_-1_400019_400007_400172) to them, then bungie the rear wheel down.

The type of carrier that Mark linked to was the kind I was looking for. The backup plan is to use a modified cargo tray with wheel hoops and a center tie down post. I was just hoping that this could be a purchase instead of a project.
