What's the difference between the "Chit Chat" and "The Pit" forums? Just trying to make sure I make my posts in the appropriate forum. Is this just a no religion, no politics version of "The Pit"?
Thanks

I think the problem is that people like Peter and me (and a few others--you know who you are!) occassionally (like all the time) ramble off topic and are as interested in humor as we are in mountain biking. My guess is that Martin decided to give us our own place to do that and not pester the serious folk when they really just want to focus on bikes and biking.
An example was the Feta Cheese thread. It was wildly popular. Lots and lots of "views." So we all thank Kristina for starting it. But it had nothing to do with mtbs. Ergo, it belongs in Chit Chat, not The Pit, and Martin moved it.

Thanks, that's what I figured but the forum descriptions threw me a little.
"Speak Out. If it's on your mind, post it here." says to me that I can post about any topic freely.

The way I see it:
The Pit: Cycling related chit
Chit Chat: The rest of the chat
No where on the forum: religion & politics

I meant to change the descriptions when I created the new forums - just totally forgot abou it...
Hopefully it's a bit clearer now.

I couldn't have said it better myself ;)
The more and more traffic we get the more it seems we tend to stray off topic which is why the chit chat forum was created.
I am looking for a couple of capable moderators to help me monitor the forums and move threads/delete offending posts, etc. If you think you're able and willing please PM Me and I'll set it up. I do have a couple of requirements:
1. A minimum post count of at least 150 posts (limits it...)
2. You MUST be a MORE member in good standing
