I did some work out at ConRob today (April 9, 2005). There are sections of the trail that are quite wet. Some sections are fine, but if you go, you will have extensive sections where you'll need to walk your bike to avoid damaging the trails. At least one equestrian has been out there in the recent past and that hasn't done the trails any favors, either. Best bet is to make the drive to another place (or don't make the drive to ConRob) this early in the season.

Things are drying up nicely. The east side on the Blue Trail has some wet spots and horse and bikes should stay away. Maybe by next weekend, if there's not too much rain, the whole place will be rideable.

I was at Fountainhead today, on the bulletin board in the parking lot was a flyer for a Specialized demo day at CR, I think in early May. Know any details about this? I think it was sponsered by A-1 bike shop (don't know them or where they are at).

I heard from Larry Camp about it. I was under the impression that it was *last* weekend. But I don't know. A1 was supposed to have special ordered a frame pump for my road bike, so I ought to head over there and I'll ask. I am supposed to go to Hungry Mother State Park this weekend, but I'm hoping to get out of it. Maybe I can sneak a trip over to Manassas and find out.

I called up and talked with Chris at A1 in Manassas. The demo day was last weekend, Friday, I think. The rep had Stumpjumper 120s there. Chris and I chatted and he'll keep MORE in mind for future advertising of such events.

He tried the new Little Bull Run trail and commented on the rock gardens. Last Sunday I blazed the trail in orange. Some of you should go out as soon as this rain stops and let me know if my blazing is suitable. I had Larry Camp in mind when I did it.
