Does anyone know of a local shop that carries replacement SPD-compatible cleat attachment plates for SIDI shoes? If not a local shop, an online retailer?
The particular item is called "MTB Four Hole Cleat" by SIDI.
I can't seem to make mine last longer than one pair of cleats.
Over the weekend, on my current shoes, I managed to get three out of four bolts out using an Allen wrench and then had to cut the last.
My plan was to reverse the plate, to use the previously unused remaining pairs of attachement holes, for my new cleats. Seemed reasonable.
However, those unused holes promptly disintegrated when I tried to attach the cleats.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Hmmm - maybe try Performance, actually - I know they stock Sidi shoes. Might be a shot in the dark, but maybe worth a try.
Other than that, I found this:

Good luck!

Think those plates will fit other shoes? I just reversed one of the plates in my Performance shoes because one screw socket was starting to strip.
CountZero...Are you lubing the screws when you install new cleats? I do and have only stripped a socket after a couple years and 4 pairs of cleats. Mine have never seized up either.

I do grease them liberally on installation.
I think the overall problem is that my sweat is both profuse and unusually salty.
Really.

I had a really hard time finding these about a year back myself. I finally gave up and called the distributor myself. They were nice enough to mail me out a couple no charge..

Well, I suppose free is better than $7.95 a pair. :) I was able to find them online, though.
