CCT worktrip, Sat, 3/28/09, 9:00 am - We are continuing our effort to build, and now maintain, sustainable natural surface trail along the Fairfax Cross County Trail. We'll be working again on the section between Carpers Farm Road and Wynhurst Lane.
Projects will include getting more stone down on the trail soft spots using up the stockpiles that remain from last year, fixing some areas where repairs are needed and defining the trail path where some braiding is starting to occur. Come help us get the line right!
To mountain bikers it's part of what is known as part of the Colts Neck loop and to equestrians it's the CCT connection between Rails to River trail and the W&OD. Our volunteer efforts are what make it possible to maintain these important sections as natural surface, single-track trail.
Bring: As usual, water, gloves and sturdy shoes. MORE will provide tools. Additional wheelbarrows will be helpful.
Directions: Take Hunter Mill Road 1/4 north of the Dulles Toll Road exit to a right on Crowell Road, continue straight on Crowell (and don’t follow the main road that turns right and becomes Browns Mill), then turn right on Westford Drive, then turn left on Wynhurst Ln and park in the cul-de-sac.

Bring sturdy shoes, gloves, water and snack, if you have cordless/battery/magical drills, please please bring them out. We will be building 1 or 2 bridges at least with no power source nearby. If you would be willing to lend us a cordless drill please contact me at my email or call me.
We'll build at least one bridge on the new trail section north of Tuckerman Ave and maybe a new tool shed for storing trail tools.
I'll be bringing Java and Donuts.
Directions: Group Picnic Area parking lot is on the north side of Tuckerman ave just east of Seven Locks road and the Cabin John mini-mall.
