Something I tried which worked quite well.

My computer sensor was ripped off because of poor installation technique or something. Anyhow, instead of throwing the comp away, I bought an alarm sensor. The kind that go on windows or doors. Available at radioshack or mouser.com. Magnetically activated. Just solder that on, use a little duct tape and youve got the worst looking bike on the trail....with a working computer!

Seems more sensitive than the previous sensor, but that may have to do with the ribs.

For the less Radio-Shack-inclined user.... you can usually obtain a replacement mount at a bike shop relatively cheap. In some cases they may have to special order, but it's only about $10. No soldering required. ;)

Yea. I didnt have a fancy "mount" for my comp. The wire just goes straight into the box. I guess you rich kids with your $20 computers get mounts. Well that is just fine! Replace the whole thing. I like solding.
