View Full Version : Need a Thule bike tray

Everyone's favourite Irishman is in need of a second bike tray for his Thule rack, for the instances when transporting two bikes is a must. (Don't ask!) It'll be for a hardtail with a suspension fork, so the ol' Velo Vise models probably won't work without me having to cut bits out of the tray to accomodate the calliper. Ideally another V2, or an upright carrier.

Haha. Problem is, most of the racks on there are highly priced, plus they shaft ya on the shipping - you end up paying as much (or more) for one on ebay as you would just going to REI and buying new.

Yo Gaz-man! Brad here; we met on the trail once or twice, in the dark in the snow. Sorry I missed joining the crew afterwards to watch SG fall off barstool ;)
Anyway, it's a bit of a pain, what w/the auction business, you can often get "sniped" (i.e.lose auction in last 5 seconds), so I'd suggest just looking at auctions that are ending soon, bid at the last minute. But anyway, I had a set of Thule load bars, needed trays. Shopped ebay, managed to snag 3 of 'em, each at about half of new cost, even though some I got were in fact NIB. Also, when dealing w/ebay sellers, shipping costs are shown on the auction, typically pretty reasonable for a tray.
I need all mine, or I'd make you a deal. I do have a set of 400 Thule feet, if you need those (fit kit for a Ford Taurus)....
Ride on!

P.S.-- I rode Schaeffer Farms the other day; thought of you. If you haven't been, you should go; probably the closest thing around here to your homeland; open green fields (oh my! :D )...cows, even! Couldn't find any small villages w/thatched roofs serving Guinness, however (dammit!)

Mwaaahahaha! Ahh, there's nothing like zipping through fields, dodging cattle. Memories of my misspent youth...
Anyways - perfect timing on this, I just scooped up the required second tray. Thanks for the assistance.
