Since its gonna rain everyday for the next month, and Ill be old and grey before anything in the area is rideable. I thought I would give my girlfriends bike a bit of an upgrade with some lightly used parts. Maybe a bit of grease on my hands will make me feel better.
I have a wheelset that cam off a 9 speed bike (mine) and I would like to put on her 8 speed bike. It has LX hubs and some pretty light rims that will knock a bit of weight off her somewhat heavy setup. Do I need some type of spacer for the freehub to accomodate the fact that she has one less cog than the wheel was originally set up for? Seems that without something of the sort the chain would be in constant misallignment. Or am I completely crazy? (this is a very possible scenario) Any name-calling, sarcasm or advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Buckwheat
