Has anybody been there recently? With the winds and the temps, do you think it would be ridable by Monday? Perhaps in the morning?

Rode Blacks Hills yesterday. I would say 85% is in good condition 13% a little soft and 2% get off and walk around (3 spots in fields) Should be fine by Sunday.

I tried Hoyles Mill, don't even think about it. the stuff I tried was soft and a lot of damage from other riders. I bailed on the road after checking out a couple of sections.

I rode Black Hill earlier today (Saturday). Similar to what DKEG said, most of the trail was fine, but there were a few very muddy spots.

I parked on 121 and rode the last section of Hoyles Mill and Black Hills this morning before it thawed out. I can see where HM would be a muddy mess later in the day. Black Hills should be good tomorrow.

Disclaimer: If you ride BH in the morning, do not hit the frost covered bridges at an angle. :bangshead:

Just rode BH and I had to walk a few softer sections especially field trail area's/transitions.

The rest of the trails under the trees were still pretty good, a lot of the ground was still pretty frozen.

Though I admit i got turned around on rock candy and explored some trails I wasn't as familiar with. Gotta take a map next time. :)

Any ideas on Black Hills for Saturday morning? Tried to hit the Hoyles Mill connector last week but quickly saw that wasn't happening. Hopefully this week one of the two will be ridable? At least before Saturday's rain/wintry mix...

Oficially over winter.

I tried hitting it up on Thursday morning. It's been a couple of months since I was there last, and the trails are in horrible condition! Bad ruts every where and many places were muddy that are almost never muddy. I think frozen is the word for a while now.

I rode part of Black Hills and Hoyles Mill yesterday on my way home from a party at Black Hills. The Hard Rock Trail was in good condition, The newer trail on the other side of the road was soft in places. Hoyles Mill was in good condition till you got to the wooded section by the Soccer Complex. I wound up bailing on the road. It was in the worst condition I have ever seen it in. Which surprised the hell out of me. That section usually holds up well. Usually if the rest of the trail is in good condition then that section is in great condition. I think the ground is saturated that there are ground seeps I never knew about.

What other trail is most similar to Black Hills? How many miles can you get there? What about Little Bennet?
