Any opinions between Conti mountain king 2.4 vs Panaracer rampage. Either would be set up tubeless. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any experience on the Rampage but I can tell you that the Mountain King sticks to anything and everything plus there's a weight savings over the Rampage that's worth mentioning. I have mine set up with Stan's and it's held up fine.

MKs shed mud nicely.

The knobs are not so great for cornering due to being long and triangular compared to the Kenda or Rampage . I also think they are lesser on rocks. They do climb very, very well (again due to the knob shape) and the do not pack up at all.

I have a set of the 2.4s on my HiFi Pro 29er and have had zero issues with them. You will probably want to pull them by summer though, because they roll like crap on dry, hard pack or any road sections you do.

I have tubes in my set.

I only have a few rides on them so far but the Maxxis Ardent's are working very well for me.

MK 2.4 is a no brainer over the Rampage for me. I am not a fan of the Rampage, big square knobs that slide around on the surface with no bite.

MK's have been great for me, nice aggressive knobs that dig in, great cornering, seem pretty durable, no tears so far from riding at the Watershed for 7 months or so, work well on rocks. Another trade off is the knobs are smaller so it tends to wear a little quicker in the rear than the tires with the big chunky knobs. So far my new favorite 29er tire, I'd run them all year long. Used with tubes.

I would highly suggest the Specialized Captain Controls.

Just call up City Bikes and they will order you set.
