For those looking for some new bling. The Yokozuna Reaction Complete Cable Kit is supposed to be compared to what ceramic bearings are to your drivetrain. Supposed to be a step above Nokon and Gore which I have been a big fan of for years. I ordered a set to try them out. Anyone else use these already?

I read about them on competitive cyclists web site. I bought two sets for my upcoming road bike build. I was gonna do Nokons, but bought these instead. Cool news is that they are half the price of Nokon.

To be honest, for a mountain bike, you're probably better off buying bulk and changing it frequently.

In my opinion, the benefit of cable sets like this is dealing with the bends that cable housing must make to be routed from shifter/brake lever, around drop bars and under handlebar tape. I know the Gore cables that came with my SRAM Red were not particularly good and dealing with that. You need something that combines the ability to bend smoothly while not compromising compression rigidity.

Nokons were awesome for that. I'm hoping the Yokozuna are even better than Nokon. We'll see.

Thanks for the post.

I have a friend running the Reaction set and they do indeed shift super buttery. But the bike is also full RED gruppo and super nice to begin with, so I never got to do a before and after.
