I know there already is a Friday ride thread but I thought I could start a weekly ride.

I'm off every Fried-Ay and would like to see if anyone else that's off on Fried-Ay's wants to start a weekly thing. The start time is 9am, if it's real cold we may push it back to 10am. I usually ride with a friend at the Watershed for three or so hours. We try and keep the pace brisk and steady....with a stop or two along the way to refuel. The plan is to ride locally (Frederick, Schaeffer or Patapsco) with some occasional trips to places farther out. This coming Fried-Ay is up in the air for me, with school not in session I'm not sure if I can get a babysitter. If I can ride it will be at Gambrill....this is the last Fried-Ay of hunting :)

Hopefully we can get a good size group together to come out every Fried-Ay

Happy New Year !!!

How brisk is brisk?

Not sure how to answer that....if I had to define it in miles I guess it would be around an 8 mph pace.

Gotcha. Most of my shed riding averages 5.5mph-6.5mph over 2-4 hours.

One of my New Year resoultions is to start the Friday Hookie Rides back up. I am staring them Jan 23 (I am out of town the next two Fridays). The rides will start at 10 am and be at different locations. Anyone is welcome to join. The rides are about 2-3 hours and I try to ride without much stopping. I am not that fast so I would say it is a casual pace but with minimal stops. The rides get longer as we get closer to spring (3-4 hours).

I did this last year for a while and we had about 5-10 people show up for rides. It was a great way to train through the winter.

I'll post up the rides this week. They will probably be in the Shed and Gambril to start and then we will head to different places.

Sorry I missed your post....I dislocated my elbow and haven't checked this site lately. I should be back in the woods in two or three more weeks. My buddy is out of the country for the next two weeks also and won't be able to ride.
