***NO LONGER FOR SALE***

seat tube: 18"
top tube: 23"
head tube: 6.25"
Single Speed specific, vertical dropout, eccentric bottom bracket shell with Bushnell EBB (included), disc only. The frame was used but in excellent condition, only very light cable rubs that are hardly visible.

I built it up only to find the standover (32") is too tall for me. Also the 100mm fork I put on made the geometry too slack. I need a smaller frame.

Frame only is $880. I can include the brand new silver Chris King headset for another $80. The headset cups are already pressed in head tube carefully. Both top and bottom cups have the "King" label facing forward. The race was also installed but I will remove it carefully from the fork.

Also included are a set of new frame decals.

Seatpost clamp not included.

More info and pictures are here (http://blog.yxie.com/search/label/Seven).

Ah man, that sucks. That's an unbelievable price for the frame. I don't even WANT a 26" frame and I was severely tempted.

I assume you bought it used? I'd hope Seven wouldn't build a custom w/ these issues.

Just a thought though; the fork can be reduced to 80mm I believe; this would fix the steering issue and give you a bit more stand over. I'd try that before I sold it.

Aren't you about 6'???

That's a really nice frame. What's the biggest ring it might take?

No, I'm only 5'9". It should take 44t or slightly bigger without problem (just measured).

You should have at least let me ride it before you tore it down.

Mainly the standover got me. I could probably reduce the fork to 80 mm, but still the standover would only drop about half inch. Tuba advised that the whole standover thing was probably overrated - but I don't want to find out.

I'm a little depressed for a 6-month project didn't turn out right. :(

Well, I think he's dead right about the standover. I seriously doubt it would be a real issue.

i agree with this. my single speed is a 20' that i got used. the standover is a bit more than i would like, and it has never been an issue. even though the frame takes small wheels :D i would still try to run it with an 80mm fork. its a beautiful bike.

I'm guessing not, since it doesn't have sliders. Sorry about the fit frustration.

No it's just a regular old fashioned 26".

So, if it doesn't sell at this price point, you might as well ride it for a while before getting rid of it. Then you can justify the price drop to yourself, because it won't be pristine anymore.

I asked J if she wanted a Seven Ti frame as a present, but she reminded me that she doesn't like riding mountain bikes, and that although it was a very generous offer, she did not want a Titanium MTBike frame as a present.

NICE frame, I wish it was a 15".

I also think stand over clearance is completely overrated.

Yueq - Have you spoken with Seven about the issue? I'm sure a company like that would make some effort to make things right.

Did you specify any parameters for standover or riding style or anything that would indicate preference for top tube clearance? With their extensive fit process I would think they would have gotten the proper information on this point. So, is it possible they made a mistake? It happens. Contacting them (if you haven't) might yield this info.

Good luck.

Custom Seven? If so they have a fit guarantee, so go ahead and use it. They might give you some flack about signing off on the measurements, etc. but if you come down hard enough on them they should redo it for you.

Their customer service isn't great... Unfortunately I know this all too well, but stay on them and you will get somewhere. I had a lot of delays and issues getting my bike, it took 3 months longer than expected, some how they lost it, people went on vacation, excuse after excuse. Then after 10 months it formed cracks in 5 welds which they didn't seem to think was too big of a deal. I must say eventually we worked something out but their first response wasn't what I expected.

Good Luck...

I bought it used so I can't blame anyone but myself.

If it doesn't sell I'll rebuild it with a 430ish rigid fork and ride it in Schaeffer etc.

I decided to listen to you guys and keep the frame. I put on a rigid fork which is over 2" shorter (crown-axle) than the F100. The end result was quite good. Standover is still a little taller than I would like, but definitely manageable now. Plus, the bike is now sub-22 lb. I will keep it.

Thanks to you all for comments and suggestions!

It's a Vicious Cycles fork. I'll keep the Fox for my next build.

Yueq was barreling up and down the yellow trail. I guess he'll have to find some much more technical trails so he can ride his moment.

Gambrill is pretty darn technical. I guess I am just refering to the fact that people now seem to have bikes like shoes (ie 4" trail bike for Gambrill, HT SS for Shaeffer and Patapsico, Ti bikes for when it is wet, steel bikes for when is dry, beater bikes for trips to the store, tandom bikes for first dates, bikes with chainsaws for zombie invasions etc.)

Don't forget the darker colored bike for sunny days. The glare is terrible on yellow bikes.
