Hello all,
Richmond-MORE and CyclingCentralVa.org are starting a drive to help soldiers in Iraq. We currently have a friend on the boards/ MORE member that is currently in his 3rd month of serving an 18 month tour and he has given us some suggestions for supplies that both he and his unit can use. We also have a few members family members serving too.

Of course some of them being a cyclists, have found themselves some bikes over there but can use some support with parts like tubes, patch kits, chains, tires, and chain lube, as well as some basic tools. (Spoke wrenches, handpumps, levers, etc)

There is a list that we compiled for everyday goodies that will help make our brave soldiers stay on foreign lands easier also.

To learn more on how you can help, please goto this link/address. There is information about what we can collecting, and who is sending it.

Lisa and I along with a few others plan to make monthly care packages and every other month send a larger "support package".

All types of help and donations are welcome!
If you want to donate money we can certainly use it to defer some of the costs of shipping, but please only a few dollars at a time. ($3.00-10.00).

We intend to make it up for the Winter Party, so feel free to bring anything that you may want to send or help out with to the party.
Both Lisa and I (Jay) as well as Vince Carman (Ra-MORE president) will be present to bring donations back for future boxes.

Thank you for time and see you on the trails.

Great idea Jay.

I've been sending stuff to friends in Iraq and Kuwait for a while now. It's fantastic to get others in on it too. I'll look over the list and see what I can find that will help.

You going to do another Lodi ride soon? I'll get the folks up here together and we'll make it a "bring a donation and go for a ride" thang.
