FYI to those of you looking to get a new light. I had a chance to compare the Seca 400 side by side with the L&M Arc in a dark alley behind TBL. Even though the Arc is rated at 670 lumens and the Seca at 400 lumens, the Seca looked brighter with a wider beam pattern and more natural color (it's more yellow to the Arc's blue). Can't wait to see what the Seca 700 looks like!

WTF?
So the moral of the story is you wouldn't want meet a Seca 400 in a dark alley armed only with a L&M Arc HID?

I was looking at it today. It's really nice and light in addition to the power. You can use the same batteries you use with your other LiM lights. I'll probably get a 700, although the DiNotte lights are really nice as well.
I do have one of the new Stella 200s and I think it is a GREAT helmet light. The beam is VERY focused and you can cast it's spot about nicely and the light unit is super light with great run time. A flood/wide light on the bar and the Stella for the long throw from the helmet seems like a great combination.
The spot beam on the Stella is so focused it seems as though it's output is MORE than 200 lumens. LiM also has a HEADBAND for trail running you can mount the Stella or any of their lights on. DiNotte has a headband for the 400L.

Did L&M drop all of their HIDs and halogens? The products page shows 3 series of LED based lights.
The Seca 700 Ultra looks real nice, 700 lumens for 5 hours. Not even going to look at the price though...

Yes, it seems they tossed the HIDs overboard. The price:

minus MORE discount at The Bike Lane.

The 400 is actually pretty light - 380 grams vs 590 for the 700 (battery mostly).

that should say something about the new LED's if L&M is dropping their HID line.

Thanks Joe P.
I have been wondering what to do, I have an old Lume Hid that needs a new battery ($100) and a cateye doubleshot pro that just does not give me long enough burn-times (a spare battery is either $160 or $220)....
The sensible might be to get a Lume battery or just get a Seca.....?
Anyone still use their Lume HID?

The only drawback I can see for the Seca is that it looks to have a larger profile than the Arc. Not good for those low-lying branches when used as a helmet light. Also it's very hard to look into the unit to check if any bulbs are not functioning. Even on the lowest setting it hurts my eyes.

NiteRider came out w/ a 900 lumen HID for 2009 - Slickrock. I like their Trinewt LED. It will be interesting to see what they come out w/ to compete w/ LM's new Seca line.

Mine's still going strong, got a second battery for races 2 years ago. First one still holds a full charge.
The Dinotte 800L/400L has caught my fancy though.
Thanks Joe P.
