Specialized has come out with a whole line of 2bliss tires. I am very excited about this since my Captain Control has been falling apart with out a tube.

I currently run stans rims so these should all be perfect

I was thinking about sticking with this

but then I thought,
Maybe I should run this in the front

And this in the rear

More choices = good. Though, as a rigid rider, I'd be more interested in big volume tires.

Does Jeff Jones like creamy peanut butter or chunky? I can't decide what to buy until this question is answered!

The Eskar is a beefy big tire. The captain in 2.2 might be a bit more faster and more conservativer.

The Eskar is a fun-hog tire. Big, slow, aggressive... (insert joke here). The captain is a bit more xc/trail tire and probably WAY better in 2.2 than it is in 2.0.

I would probably just run the captain 2.2 front/rear or rock the 2.2 front, 2.0 rear.

I saw the new purgatory tires on Sloan's bike last year at Pisgah. Looks like a good tire.

Finally!!!!

Let me know what you buy. I am running S-Works Captains with tubes, and will probably look at MAVIC wheels and 2Bliss when I win the Lottery.

Jeff who (as in "who cares")??? He should have the motto, "If you can find a better made, cheaper bike, BUY IT! If you want to ride art, buy my bike".

In the past they have sold out of 2Bliss quickly. I am tempted to buy pretty quickly.

Are you still on the Rip9? I might be tempted to go with a little more tread than the LK in the rear, just to assure it doesn't break loose as easily, given that bike ability to handle just about anything. I don't think you'd loose too much with the regular level Captain tread.

The only issue I have with the Captain is the size of the tire. The 2.0 was not too big, that's for sure.

I'll be getting a set of the 2.2s at some point in the future. They'd be a great set of winter tires, methinks.

I have the 29er CrossMaxx wheels, not tubeless the moment. I been wanting to do Tubeless but was waiting of a tubeless tire to come out. I used to ride the Captain in back was great, I think a 2.2 would be good. Only issue I had was the thin sidewalls rocks tore them up. The beefy tire interests me as well for the more epic rides.

I'm hoepfully switching my rear to the 2.2 PUrgatory tonight, I'll report on either that or the captain 2.2 in the next couple of days once I get some riding in on it.

I am going to get the 2.2.

It is funny, I called City Bikes to order the tire and they acted like was going to be a special order and that they would not normally carry it.

From my point of view there are alot of 29er guys looking for a good tubless tire and the Captain is pretty sweet

They don't know too much about mtn bike stuff, let alone NEW 29r mtn bike stuff. You have to insist, for sure...
