What happened to the Forums? Is this a new look? Instead of being horizontal rectangles, across most of the screen space, they've gotten squeezed into long vertical boxes?
Anybody know what the deal is? Is this one for the Moderator (Martin, I believe?)
Curiously yours,

It looks fine to me right now. Maybe trying clearing your browser's cache, closing it and trying again. Seems like computers come up with the craziest ways to screw up on you sometimes.

It's messed up for me, too. I know that the site is going under a re-vamp and will soon be new and improved. Perhaps this is a temporary transition stage.

we were going to wait till this weekend, but might as well do it now since a couple of things I was doing were messing the old layout up.
Please let me know if everything's working ok for you...
I'll stick this thread so peopl can let me know if they expereince any oddities. You can also let Joe and I know what you think...

Not being the most attentive sort, I didn't realize a revamp was in the works. It's very nice, but I was pretty startled when I logged on just now!
P.S.: I suggest bolder or darker text - it looks sort of "washed out" right now...
P.P.S.: Any chance of moving the "Forum Jump" to the top of the page?

Looking good Martin. Just thought I'd put a couple of things out there. When replying to this, the tan box goes past the box it's contained in on the right side. So does the "Post Icons" box. I can send you a screen grab if you need. I'm running Firefox 1.0 on WindowsXPsp2.
Now for a small request - would it be possible to add a "new posts" button to the front of the forums. It was extremely useful on the old forums to be able to click that and see only the new threads or threads with new replies. What do you think?

Thanks DT,

Nice job. Looks fantastic. Having just dumped a bunch of hours into my own website and made only a dent in getting my Tucson log properly done, I have great appreciation for how much work you've done.
So here are a couple of things that need "fixing"--but I offer them in the spirit of being dazzled by your fine efforts, not as a criticism.
The Thursday night rides on the calendar are listed 6:30 - 6:30, but when you click on them, they come up as they should at 6:45.
What happened to the Forum calendar where I can spy on how old my riding buddies are and wish them Happy Birthday on their days?

I just noticed something funny... the "hot thread with new posts" and "hot thread with no new posts" both seem to have the same icon: the new posts icon. That does makes browsing a little confusing. In case it's just me, I'm using Firefox 1.0 on XP. Also, jsut checked with IE and it shows the same thing.

Yep :)
Among the new forum features are perks for MORE Members... One of them being the ability to post larger profile pictures and the ability to have their own Member Pages - click on Members on the navBar for a half-ass sample from me...
Once I get this thing working 100% (probably never) I'll spruce up my member area.
Members will also get access to a brand new forum (working on it...) That will give them all kinds ofjuicy stuff :)
IF YOU ARE A MORE MEmber and do not see a "Edit Bike Garage" link on your user profile page please PM me with your user info - and the eMail address you used to register, I'll make sure it gets fixed.

Much cleaner design, I like it. It is a little long (scrolling) maybe only show the first few items of each category, then link to the full section on a subsequent page.
Also differentiate the Section headers with a color out of the MORE palette.
The buttons at the top of the page could stand to be more prominent, right now I don't notice them very much. Try knocking the text out in white.
Maybe for Forum topics, only disply the most recent for each of the community forum sections on the main page and then link in.
The Forum page looks good, as does the gallery. Nice dynamic drop downs in the main nav too.
Like I said at the beginning, good improvement, I think through some more feedback in a few more revisions the site will be great.
Good work Martin! :D

I like the new format and graphics, it is purdy!
But the forums are just not as prominant as before. I wonder if that has lead to their low usage over the last few days. I would request making the forums and the ride schedule more obvious, like they were before.

What he said! Plus - the links section on the left seems to be redundant now - suggest moving the calendar list and more news list to the left column. Move my profile stuff to the bottom of the column. On the right - shorten the Forums list and swap the sponsor links with the poll section.
The logic being to keep the more dynamic and current info on top of the page where I can see it without scrolling. Static or nearly static info like my profile should not get top billing.
I'd also reduce the white/gray space on the page in general. The space between columns could be cut in half easily since there is still a margin inside the columns and the white on gray border around the outside of the page could be reduced drastically. Ther is noting wrong with maximizing the use of real estate - especially if it reduces or eliminates the need to scroll.
Great new look and feel - thanks for all the hard work! :D

Actually information is relatively redundant due to the tabs at the top.

OK,
I moved a few things around per a few suggestions here - Mainly put the sponsors on the left column and moved the Community Forums to the top of the forum landing page.
Let me know if you have any more suggestions. Please remember that the goal of MORE's site is to disseminate relevant regional information, which is why we have the two features so prominently on the home page and why the news and information forums wehre at the top of the forum landing page.
I can still tweak a few things around the site and I'm keeping a list of suggestions to do in bulk - primarily making the buttons at the top more prominent. What do you guys think of making all of the main menus dropDowns from the nav bar a t the top? I know it will reduce some of the home page content - but will it be evident to the regular user that there's additional contnent to be found there?
Please let me know - Joe and I want to make the site as valuable and friendly resource as we can so that our membership has the most up-to-0date information availabale.
BTW, Thank you for all of the constructive input - good or bad - it makes working on the site a much more rewarding experience and one we hope you come to enjoy and find useful over time.
BTW - I'm working on a document (post) that will itemize all of the new features available on the site. Please stay tuned :)

markie@unformat

Umm, a few of the titles blend into the text. So the titles do not really stand out, which makes it hard to get to where you want to go at a glance.
For example Latest forum topics is around the same size text (might be smaller) and blends right in with the topics titles.
It think it is coming on well though.

I've been having a lot of problems with logging in. I've had to reset my password about twice per day. I seem to do better at home (Mac OSX, and it's impossible to log on at work (Win 2000). I meant to keep experimenting to figure out exactly what the problem is, but I'm posting now anyway.
When I click on "Members" it kept giving me a login prompt that I didn't get to work, until I reset that, then changed it. Now it only gives my membership payment.
Where do I click to find all the members listed??? Is there a way to access PMs other than to find someone you want to PM and click on their name in a thread? What if I want to read an old PM and not send? Where do I click to do that?
I used to stay in the "invisible" mode. I can't find that option anywhere.
There's a nice gallery where I posted a picture of my bike. It doesn't seem to have the old pictures I put on the old website, though (no big deal). But I also clicked on the "Member Pages" and it has two bike shots that are different the bikes in the gallery. That confuses me.

You can access PM's the way you mention and by contacting the members via the member list

I had to manually move the pictures from the old gallery to the new one - There is a "members bikes" cateogry if you send me the url to your bike I will change the "owner of the image" - right now all the images are owned by "Spooky" a member I created for the manual move...

Yes, you did send the PM. I was pretty sure I answered you. Yes, I did discover that that was my MORE membership page, not the forum info page.
