What were the big sellers during the holidays at area bike stores?
Big-ticket items that were selling well at City Bikes included Specialized StumpJumper FSR 100/120 bikes, according to operations manager Mike Klasmeier. At the Bike Lane, Anne Mader says Independent Fabrications Road and Mountain bikes and Trek carbon road bikes were hot. Hmm, I wonder how many of those bikes were for Santa?

City Bikes sold a lot of Decibel Helmets and Pro Carbon shoes from Specialized, as well as Speedplay pedals.
Kids bikes were popular too, says Anne, who reports brisk sales overall. “Basically, anything that wasn’t nailed down went out the door,” she says. And she wasn’t referring to the unfortunate event a few months ago at the Bike Lane when that happened but no one paid..
