Did Mc Keldin for the first time last night.
Going counterclockwise on the Switchback trail from the gatehouse, there's a part of the trail where it's been redirected after the purple trail turns off to the left. Going up this new redirect, there are several rocks that stick out of the trail several inches so that (with my limited skills) its difficult to pedal uphill without hitting them. As a matter of fact I wrecked on them and now have 9 staples in my shin. Are there any plans to take these out, or are the plans just to train me better? ;-)

I'd say train more and / or walk over stuff you can't ride. Keep riding and next year this time you'll wish for more rocks, roots, and other nasty stuff. That's what it is all about. :D

You mean plans to take the staples out? Need to ask your doc about that! Seriously, can you ride weekday evenings there, say 5:30-6:00? If so, post up on McKeldin thread or email me. Anyway, chicks dig scars (I hope)!

Cool! I'll have to check out the new rocks!

I did 2 rides there today...took a nubie out for their first ride on parts of Switch Back then went off on my own to Woodstock Road. The River is really low and crossing was feet dry event today. There are a lot of leaves on the trail and in the Fall shadows, they are adding to the "fun factor" as you are looking down the trail and trying to figure out if that's a root, pony poo or just a shadow in the trail. Good rides today!
