Hey folks: I usually ride Patapsco (I live nearby) but recently my daughter has been joining me. The hills there are tough on her little legs. Sometimes we ride Lake Roland (a lot easier for her) but what else is close to Catonsville. About a 1/2 hour drive would be great. Something like Schaffer Farms or easier. It doesn't need long distances.
Thanks Balto Charlie

About a 1/2 mile south east of Catonsville is the Patuxant Research Refuge. I have never been there for the same reason you might want to check it out. According to Scott and Martin's book, "Mountain Bike America: Washington Baltimore", "This is a great ride for kids" and the terrain is "easy due to little elevation change." Mostly gravel roads though. Look at a map if you don't have the book. Entrance is off 198 near where it intersects with 32 in Laurel.
