My singlespeed project is getting there. I need spokes from Cane Creek and spacers. Then I'll be done.
If anyone has an extra spacer kit, I will pay 5 billion dollars for it.

I saw that someone did a very nice looking spacer kit out of PVC on MTBR. That might cost a little less than $5billion.

Might be worth goofing with if you've got nothing else to do with your life. ;)

I also saw that ad. In fact, I emailed that seller earlier today. PVC seems so proletariat, though. I was really hoping for something really fancy, like aluminum.

PVC of the world unite! Throw off the shackles put upon you by bourgois aluminum.

My buddies Leon and Vladimir would be appauled. ;)

Bikeman (http://www.bikemannetwork.com/biking/c/SSFHSP) sells spacers.

The also sell this kit (http://www.bikemannetwork.com/biking/p/SSCONV/BTI-GU1810) which seems to be quite popular with kids this year.

There's a guy on MTBR who has a pretty funky rear chain guide/freehub spacer system machined from billet aluminium. I haven't seen contact info for him lately though and I imagine it might be a bit pricey.

Talk to y'all soon.

Pete

Those are cool and they look like they're well made. They're different from the ones I'd seen, but they should do the trick perfectly or even better. ;)

Thanks for posting that up.

I'm actually gonna build up a single speed with my dad; what kind of spacers would you reccomend? I'm thinking I'll just go get some 1 1/2" PVC, cut that down to size, and hold the whole thing together with a lockring. Sound good? Or should i get some metal spacers, (I.E. from a 1.5 headset)? Please advise--Graham

P.S. I think the PVC would be slightly cooler, because it would hold paint better...(think Psycadelic! ;) )

there is a seller on ebay who sells a spacer kit, which i believe is made of aluminum. also includes your choice of cog - either 16 or 18..

I've purchased aluminium spacers from Spokes in Alexandria, but found that some shops will give you spacers from old cassettes they've replaced.

the PVC. I'm looking to spend as little $$ as possible, so that looks like the way to go--Thanks for the input--Graham
