I just wanted to alert a "trail liaison" or park personnel of a trip wire I ran across when riding off of Daniels Rd. Not sure how familiar you are w this part of the park, but I ride it regularly. It's across the river from the Alberton to Mariottsville thru trail.
In case you're not familiar, drive Rt 99 to Old Fred Rd, left on Daniels Rd. Pass the St Pk sign, see driveway on left, park, that's the beginning of the trail. Stay on driveway til it takes a left up a hill (to someones house) trail goes off to the right and hugs the river for 2.5 miles til it reaches the train tracks. When you come up to the train tracks you'll be between 2 tunnels. Continue across the tracks and take a left up a steep hill that takes the trail on top of the Davis tunnel and eventually to a neighborhood off of Rt 99. As you crest the hill there's an old telephone pole off to the right that someone took some wire from and wrapped it around a tree. Luckily I missed it going up, but hit it on the way down flipping me off of my bike. Not even a bruise, but I thought someone should know. I can mark it w my GPS if someone wants to know exactly where it was. I have since moved it. Mike
