Fountain Head Trail Closed 9/14/02 until 11:00 AM

Hey Stu,

Was this something that I missed before? Met up with a group of friends to ride on Sat. morning and found out that the trail was closed until 11:00 am... what gives?

Yes, you missed it. You're in good company, though. I didn't publish the closure. I'll try to do better next time.

Information regarding trail closure is available at (703) 250-2473. This closure was noted on the recording. Typically, the recording is updated for closures due to wet conditions. They do, however, update the recording for closures due to other reasons; events, deer hunts, etc.

The next published closure is Oct. 6 for VentureQuest. The trail will open later in the afternoon after VQ has finished their Fountainhead events. Although the trail will be open, parking will likely be a mess until late in the afternoon.

Of course, it's not too late to volunteer as a Course Marshall. That will get you on the trail thru the day and prime parking. Don't forget...an exclusive, free VQ T-shirt, too. Let me know if you're interested.
