there is a new jump at avalon, definitely constructed yesterday. It wasn't there in the morning, it was there in the evening.
It's on the trail in from the park n ride off rolling rd. There is a spot where, as you are heading into the park, a second trail drops in from the left and merges....right there is a little roller hump next to a tree....but not anymore. Someone has used shovels to make this into a 3 foot high peaked dirt jump. It is a vertical launch type of jump, but with no landing area, just to flat.
I just shook my head when I saw it. It's in a spot where no "b" line around it is possible. Hikers and dog walkers will just say to themselves "stupid punk mtb'rs". The park will say "we can't have stuff like this popping up on high traffic trails"
I hope it doesn't stay long. I love some jumps, but this one is not good for anyone.

hopefully this photo comes through...

Brilliant. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for jumps, but that sounds pretty dumb.

Speaking of brilliant, I ran into some helmetless moto-x riders coming out of the woods at the roadside parking on Landing Rd. last night. I said a few words to them, not many of them kind.

not to head off topic, but there was a TON of traffic on that trail yesterday afternoon while I was there and I observed about 1/3 of the riders I saw to be helmetless...
