Just a reminder about our charity ride at Avalon on August 10th. Sign up here: http://www.12hrsforstjude.org/index.html
The course will be a clockwise 7-8 mile loop. It is up the hill on the Ridge Trail, left on Rockburn Branch, do the big loop go down the hill make a left on Morning Choice. Morning choice to the Old track loop, back on morning choice to Norris lane. Take Norris lane toward Landing road, right on Cascade Falls that parallels Landing road. The aid station will be in the clearing at the top of Cascade falls nearest the parking area of Landing road. Cascade falls to the Ridge trail, back down the Ridge trail hill to the Pavilion.
While this is not a race, we will be providing race numbers and will have a timing table to keep track of everyone.
Race Pace will be providing tech support. There will be kids activities and a live band in the afternoon.
Hope to see you out there!

Just an update - we will set up the course tomorrow late morning/afternoon. The park gates open at 7:00am so our first priority will be to get the riders rolling as soon as we can. For those who attended the MORE picnic, the grillmaster Brad, will be cooking up complimentary burgers and hot dogs for registered riders!
We will have onsite registration but doing so beforehand will make things much easier for us.

Thanks to everyone who raced, donated, and volunteered. Special thanks to Race Pace for offering wrench support on and off the course. Huge props to the Fire Dept and Police and EMT folks out there....that command center was incredible. I'll have some updated info this week. The photographer said about a week.
Congrats to Jon for a men's solo 3rd place finish and 1st place Single Speed solo!
Congrats to Becky for a women's solo and single speed 1st place finish!

Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but I did see a lot of course marking left on the trail from the race. The water bars has two piles of caution tape and signage still on the trees at the top. Will someone be demarking the course?
I don't want to take away from the race and the cause, but it may be tough to come back next year if the first one didn't "Leave no trace". I'm just saying...

Thank you very much for letting me know. We did have volunteers sweep afterwards but apparenty they missed some. I'll try and send some one up there today. We have a great relationship w/ the park so we do not want to jeopardize anything.
Any chance some one here can sweep?

I don't know the course route, but I can get any signs on the trees that i see when I ride later. However, the amount of caution tape that was left is a lot. Too much to stuff into a camelbak. There is also one of those "Emergency and Communication" signs at the top with the wire frame. A little cumbersome to ride with. Just an FYI.

Thanks for your offer. I have someone who is going to try to walk up the hill to get the tape. Is that where it is? Is the Emergency sign at on the Ridge trail too? He is going out during his lunch break so he does not have time to hike the entire course. If you are there, please grab any signs on the trees that you can. If there is anything else you notice that we missed and can't carry....just let me know. Thanks again for letting me know and for your help.

No problem. Yes, all the tape I saw was on the water bars and the bigger sign was just above the Ridge trail at the 4-way intersection.
I will be riding pretty much all the HoCo side tonight, so any signs that I see I will take them down and report back later on. I'll just send you a PM when I'm done.
