Down in NoVA (Reston/Oakton) we had a substantial storm tonight and it's still raining, with rain predicted into tomorrow. I'm curious how localized this storm was... Was there any rain up in the Schaeffer/Germantown area? I'd love to get a dirt ride in tomorrow so I'm hoping to hear the trails will be dry or at least rideable. Thanks...

I live in Germantown about 2 miles from Schaeffer and I see no evidence of rain this AM.
I rode Schaeffer about 5 PM last evening and it's in good shape, a few soft spots, some have been worked on and covered with sticks. There are still a couple of trees down but they have ride arounds, at least one of them, I can't remember about the other one.

Weird....I don't think we got a drop in Herndon....Here in South Riding, I saw a ton of lightening to the south around Manassas. Fountainhead probably got hit, but I have no idea how bad.

yea the storm seemed pretty localized, but was really hard.... it was raining when the center was at least 10 miles out near Hunter Mill / Vale in Oakton, and then came about 15 mins of hail  I can only assume that Difficult Run got hit, maybe Wakefield and Fountainhead too....
So I was happy that there was no rain in Germantown, and I made it up to Schaeffer today. Conditions were great, most of the trail was completely dry and no bad patches of mud... Only several downed trees that I needed to go around, on the yellow trail close to the field between markers 9-13.... Riding that trail is a blast! Love the fast 'roller coaster' section with the orange blaze, rode many loops of that :D
