View Full Version : Does anyone have nothing better to do?!

Well, my new (used) Marin just showed up in many many pieces. Tonight I begin the fun task of assembling it. My first thought was take it to a LBS since I am, it must be said, a newbie. But the few I called want $200+ to do the job for me (with a week long wait.)

So tonight I will be holed up in my basement knocking it together, hopefully finishing the job tomorrow afternoon. Was wondering if there was anyone on here who would be (he said hopefully) willing to assist a random bald Irish bloke you don't know in this daunting task. I know tonight's the Wakefield ride, so wouldn't expect anyone to blow that off (unless you really want to! But I have an indoor soccer game at 10:00pm anyways) but if anyone has some free time tomorrow, or can be talked into playing hooky (!) I would hugely appreciate some help. I don't have a lot of cash to spare, but can throw some bucks on if needed, as well as (obviously!) providing tasty beverages of choice and nourishment. (And being Irish, I don't do crap beer, nothing but good stuff!)

Just think - since my Niterider also showed up today, this would mean that I'd be mobilized for the weekend and next week's rides. You DO want me out there, don't you? Sniff? (Besides which, if I am out at Wakefield, I would gleefully rip the throat out of whomever is breaking into these cars..! ;) ) Feel free to PM me, email me at gaz@gedmunds.com, or respond here, whichever.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh!

I'll probably be around tomorrow during the day. Drop me an e-mail (PedroGringo@yahoo.com).

Went well - Pete did the business for me and then some. I have to admit, I suffered a spot of buyers remorse having bought the bike, and even listed it in the marketplace for sale. But now am comfy with it and making more tweaks. A full SRAM X9 kit is sitting next to me, and will be popped on there at some point this week, along with a RF Turbine crankset (the older parts will be moved onto yet another buildup project, the K2 frame I scooped up off Craig a couple weeks ago.)
