I'd like to clarify for everyone that MORE's club insurance only applies to official MORE rides that are listed on the ride calendar. Informal rides set up on this board, whether by members or non-members, are at each rider's risk, and leaders of informal rides, whether MORE members or not, are not covered by our insurance. MORE assumes no responsibility for informal rides arranged on this board or on the listserv.

If you want to lead a ride, and would like the benefit of MORE's insurance to cover you, then please contact Scott Scudamore, MORE's ride coordinator and ask that your ride be listed on the MORE calendar. Scott's e-mail address is listed on the MORE contact page. Only paid-up members in good standing are eligible to lead official club rides.

This is in no way meant to discourage informal use of this board to set up individual rides, but please be aware that club insurance does not cover these rides.

An additional note of clarification:

The insurance I'm referring to here is liability insurance for the ride leader, the club, and its officers, to cover possible damages from lawsuits by ride participants. It also covers other events such as work days. This is standard insurance carried by most if not all bike clubs.
