4 inches of fresh snow last night made for hard work breaking trail this morning but it should pack down nicely.

however, there's a decent chance that we get dumped on again (1+ ft. late friday to late saturday). that would make the trails unridable for the weekend.

Hey OB - did the trails seem like they were starting to get sloppy at all since the temps have risen about freezing? Hoping to get out there a little later. Thanks!

When I was out there Monday afternoon, everything under the shade was good, packed snow. The fields were bare and starting to get a little sloppy. We had a little warmup yesterday, but with the extra snow, We're hoping it will be decent tonight. We're leaving from the Nystroms at 5:30 if you want to join us :). If its bad, We'll bail.

Thanks for the invite but we're starting from the other side of the park, maybe we'll run into you guys. Fingers crossed for great conditions out there!

Do you mind breaking it in a little more? I went out this morning from Rockburn and there were only 2 sets of tracks. Hard work going through 4 inches of fresh snow.

Not a sign of mud at all when I went through. The snow is like armor for the trail. Once it is packed down- perfect riding conditions!

Tough going out there tonight. We did a loop in Rockburn and didn't cross over to Patapsaco. It was pretty slippery, and the ground under was getting soft, and the bare spots were muddy. Tomorrow am it should be frozen, but 40 later in the day will make it worse. Looks like Friday Afternoon when the storm coming in dumps some fresh snow down will be the best bet. All depends on how much and when. Forecast is for heavy snow Saturday.

Ha, you're not kiddin'! We stuck to the Baltimore County side and the only muddy section we encountered was on Vineyard. The ride may have been short distance wise but it was a real workout!

Anyone been out to see if the snow is passable? I was thinking it might start to be packed down enough to ride soon. Maybe by May?

I was snowshoeing off of the Hilton area yesterday, had fresh tracks the whole time and didn't see any tracks other than animals. Without more people getting back there on CC ski's and snowshoes it will be a long while before its packed enough for riding.
