3/30/08 >> I saw this today on Mtbr and thought it looked like a great product. I'm not sure just how "new" they actually are but from the pictures I think they just might be OEM on the next generation of XC bikes. I certainly like the look of these over the ones that mount to your outer chain ring. Anyway, if anyone has used one of these or has comments...please chime in. Ever since I saw the e.13 LG1 with the taco setup, I was thinking why don't they do something like that for XC bikes.

My biggest worry with this type of setup is that since the guide basically just replaces one of the spacers between your BB Cup and shell is that the bash guard may rotate on you when you hit something. You'll have to take care to get it mounted tight enough.

Now e.13 is coming out with a product called the 3guide very soon which also acts as a chain guide for XC bikes. I'm not sure it supports the taco bash guard, but I think it would be dumb if it didn't.
