Three MORE members have received “Honorary Ranger” awards from the Maryland Dept. of Environmental Resources for their outstanding work in area parks. Todd Brooks, MORE’s Rosaryville Trail Liaison, Austin Steo, Trail Liaison at Fairland, and Karen Garnett all received the awards from Ranger Steven Muse of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources at the Hoyles Mill Workday on Dec. 5.

Todd’s award was for his hours of hard work and planning that were instrumental in creating the eight-mile biking and equestrian trail at Rosaryville State Park in Maryland. Unfortunately, details of Karen’s and Austin’s awards weren’t available but we’ll update on the web.

In addition, MORE and Bike Doctor received the 'Trail of Fame' award for the Rosaryville Perimeter Trail. All awards were presented by Steven Muse of Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

“I would like to thank each and every one of you who have ever lifted a tool, helped arrange a schedule, or donated time or money for the Rosaryville Perimeter Trail project,’’ Todd says. “This trail has been a labor of love for me and has given back a hundredfold of what I have given.”

Rosaryville’s tight twisty singletrack was built and designed in cooperation with IMBA's trail building guru and former trail crew member Rich Edwards. Visit the “Where to Ride” section of MORE’s website for directions to the park.
