What would be a pretty typical road crank length on a 56-58 bike? I go 33 inseam and 6' and I was thinking 175 on the cranks. Is that good thinking?

Should be fine. I am 5'10.5" and use a 172.5 on my road bike and 175 on my MTBs. I am pleased with the results.

I'm a newbie to the road, but on my road bike (which I think is a 52), it has 170 cranks. My inseam is 32", but I'm 5' 6". I was told that you typically want run a smaller crank than you normally would on a mountain bike (I run 175s on the mountain bike). Whether that is true or not, I don't know, but the 170s do seem to be working well for me.
