I apologise for my negative , er, ummm, post.

That post looked great, don't sweat the details.

Were you being mean to Dom again? Shame on you. ;)

I just ordered one of the new Moots seatposts. It should be shipping some time next week.

My experience

Blacksheep post: bent it when I landed on the seat after a 2 foot drop. Light and sexy, but thin tubing. I told James to spec for a 125lb weakling but I would have liked a bit more durability. My fault. Thomson head makes adjustments super easy. Love the sheep stickers.

Moots: Burly and durable, but HATE the Moots head. It's hard to adjust. Built on the thicker side so it fits a bit too snug in the seat tube for my liking. Maybe I got one from a bad run when their tolerances were going out of whack.

Yeah,

I feel bad now. I think I must have chronic SPE (Seat Post Envy) I thought my syncros and thomsons were great, kinda the subaru wrx of seatposts. Then Dom comes along and brandishes the Ferrari F40 and Lamborgini Murcielago of seatposts.... :)

New Moots post...

Cinch. Check it out. Shipping soon. I got some for stock and one for Pete.

It's choice.

I just put one of the old Moots posts on a Moots compact road bike and they aren't as hard as I remember.

Thanks Mike. Yup. I confirmed the order yesterday. Thanks for making me get the cinch post.

JoeP: If I do a 2' drop on my road bike, the seat post bending is going to be the least of my worries. :D

After feeling the sensation of a flexy and light seapost, I went to Thomson and never looked back. Something about having the jagged end of a broken post up my bum doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feelings.

I got the eriksen seatpost, and really like it. Plus you get the added benefit of knowing that you're riding one of the most expensive seat posts out there.
