controlled by the Ramp Fairies. I spoke with them recently and they're pissed-off about your ramp fairy post and have decided to make it rain for 3 more days. Hopefully, the snow fairies will join in the mix soon and at least give us something to ride on...... that is unless someone decides to post something mean about the snow fairies and then we'll be in really bad shape. ;)

Jeepers, seriously! I'm about ready to go to the airport and ask for a plane ticket to ANYWHERE that has sun for more than one day at a time! This rain is driving me nuts!

A few of us have joined a new biking group in the DC area.
MoRE - The Mid Atlantic on-Road Enthusiasts. 3 of us are meeting at Wakefield tomorrow at 9:00 AM for (DARE I say it) a road ride..........
L
PS I don't CARE how sunny it is tomorrow. Wakefield -Accotink, Colts Neck, Schaeffer, Fountain Head, Rosaryville, Patapsco and other places are NOT (And I repeat - "NOT" gonna be dry). Trust me on this one..

Yeah, right...
I'm not sure if this sun thing really exists or is just a myth used to frighten children...

Since you can't ride.... come out and help create more trail for when our world dries out... We're working on the connector tomorrow. :)

Boy, that reminds me. I must have been completely traumatized b/c I remember when I was in 1st grade, we read a story about living on another planet where it rained ALL the time and the sun only came out once every 7 yrs. One poor girl was disliked for some reason or another and the day that the sun was supposed to come out, the other kids locked her in a closet so that she missed the sun! I cried for that poor girl and I was living in CA at the time so I had no worries of not ever seeing the sun!
 Man, that's what I'm starting to feel like now!
Hmmm, maybe I need therapy :p

I think ya'll need to come out on Tuesday, December 21st with your bike and your bell to go caroling in Alexandria.
Ding, ding, ding. Ding, ding, ding. Ding, ding, ding, ding, dingggggggggggg.
Jin-gle bells. Jin-gle bells. Jin-gle all the wayyyyyyyy!
W&OD for me in 8 hours. Gotta get some sleep now.

I'll bet Gambrill will be dry enough to ride. It seems to take about 15 minutes of sun and wind to get that place back to normal again.
Not much you can do to solid rock :)

I threw on some blaze orange this afternoon and hit Greenbrier and am happpy to report it was in most excellent shape. Those trails hold up amazingly well to the wet weather. SO much of it is rock and gravel based that the rain just drains right off. It was a bit slick but otherwise great.
Tomorow's ride there will be going off as planned. Come on out if you need your fix after being inside all week. Check the calendar for details.

I was thinking about that same story...
Can't remember who wrote it, though.

I believe it's a short story that was written by Ray Bradbury titled "All Summer In A Day"
I found a link to the story over on this website

Rub it in...
While you were doing that...
I got to listen to someone with a "special" view of the world... Someone mentioned that it might snow today to him, so obviously, they were talking about cocaine, right? And that was the part of the conversation that made sense...
Anyone wonder why I never paid money to see the movie "Jackass"?

Well it was snowing at Greenbrier yesterday afternoon. I'm sure there's more to come this winter. :)

Awwww, darn, darn, DARN!! I didn't get any emails for the responses on this thread and even though I was checking the calendar, somehow I missed the Greenbriar ride. I was dying to go!

Don't worry. We'll have more. This next weekend may be a weird one since I'm leaving town, but we'll get plenty of Greenbrier rides in before spring. :)
