I've been riding at Wakefield for the past year, however, when I went to hit the trails at Accotink, I couldn't find them. After taking the underpass beneath Braddock Rd, I continued until I got to Accotink Lake. Where is it from there?
Also, is there an easier way to get to the Accotink trails besides the 30 min+ bike trip from Wakefield?
I'd appreciate any help.
Much thanks.

Ride under Braddock, and when you get to the info board (about 3/4 mile past the underpass), head right over the bridge. Make a left at the end and climb up to the road. Follow the road past the high school and down the hill, then go straight across the cul-de-sac and up the short hill to the cinder. At the cinder, go straight across into the singletrack.
You can get there the way you were going too. You would need to continue past the lake, climb up the trail adjacent to the dam and then look for the singletrack entrance on your left. The first way I described is much shorter from Wakefield though.
With few exceptions, all the trails are between the Lake Accotink cinder trail and the railroad tracks.

Ride under Braddock, and when you get to the info board (about 3/4 mile past the underpass), head right over the bridge. Make a left at the end and climb up to the road. Note that on the way back, the steep hill is closed to bikes. Instead, continue past that turn down the sidewalk (the park folks don't want bicyclists bowling down pedestrians walking up the hill) and follow the road another couple hundred yards or so. Then turn right (gravel double track I believe), and double back. You'll find the bridge on the left and you can return to WF. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is.

I recommend riding with someone that know the trails fairly decent.
Unlike Wakefield, Accotink is more of a spider web of trails. Also, from the perspective of my beginning days, it is a more difficult trial for beginners. More fun, but more difficult at the same time.

I cut my teeth on mountain biking in Accotink last August! Memories!
That big hill going past the school used to kill me (quit smoking at that time) not to mention having to walk up the steeper shorter hill at the end near the singletrack trailhead. :o No worries about those now!
