I'm looking to pick up this ring set:

http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/CG602A00-Race+Face+Team+Rings+Chain+Ring+Set .aspx

But I ned to make sure it will fit with my XT crank set... Anyone know of any problems or anything?

Yes, they will work. Make sure you get the correct bolt pattern for your cranks (probably 4-bolt 104, but you'll want to check to make sure).

Support your LBS. They could answer that question for you.

Support your LBS. They could answer that question for you.Good point. Only people who work in bike shops will know the answer to that question.

Am I the only one who is getting so annoyed with the constant "support your LBS" statements that I'm actually getting a pang of pleasure every time I order online? Just curious.

I support my LBShopS (plural) plenty, thanks.

And, yes Jab, I agree. Sorry I'm not like the rest of N.Va whom can afford to pay more for things.

Nope, I'm right there with you! Seems like a staple response - heck, I'll expect to start hearing it one the election front! Want to fix the economy, lower taxes, and do away with terrorism? Support your LBS!

Yep, inflammatory. I'll expect this post to be removed, too. :p :D

Every time you order online, you are doing the exact opposite of supporting your LBS. Walk the talk or speak not. Let the flaming begin.

If my LBS wants my friggin business they can earn it like any other store. I don't owe them anything.

Ummm... pretty much right about there. As someone who works in an LBS, it just makes me giggle. My favorite are the people who order parts online and upon finding out it's the wrong size or they are not sure how to install it, bring it to me to fix, correct or install and demand that I drop eveything I'm doing and take care of it right then and there because they are going for a ride in a few hours. Even better, the ones who then get upset when I charge them $10.00 for 2 hours of labor on a Saturday morning. Happens more than you think.

You didn't mention what year XT you have, if it's four bolt, five bolt, 110mm, 104mm...

Shimano would tell you they aren't compatible. Race Face would say 'what? Duuuuude' and you'd hear a bubbling sound in the background.

I admit that I wasn't an economics major, but I doubt that you will find "try to guilt customers into shopping at your store" anywhere in a list of successful business strategies.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust most LBS's I've been to with any of my bikes.

You didn't mention what year XT you have, if it's four bolt, five bolt, 110mm, 104mm...As far as I've seen, all the cranks Shimano has made for the last few years have been 4 bolt/104 (aside from XTR, of course). I admit my MTB knowledge only goes back to 2004 or so, so maybe they did other sizes in the past.

Shimano would tell you they aren't compatible. Race Face would say 'what? Duuuuude' and you'd hear a bubbling sound in the background.Heh.

People like this are the number 1 reason my shops won't become MORE sponsors. And the reason I didn't renew my membership. Vultures.
Who still says BOOYAH?

"I didn't renew my membership"

What? It is OK to berate others for not shopping at their LBS, but that makes it OK for you not to pay you membership? Are you special? How are the two related?

BooYah. You are an asshole.

Why would I renew my MORE membership. I have an IMBA membership. Nice language, BTW.
If you really want to start making personal attacks, let me know for real, coward.

Yeah, I am a coward because I said what I was thinking, actually I maybe a coward because asshole is pretty tame for what I really wanted to type.

Perhaps you using the MORE forum, is the equivalent to people coming into your bike shops and shopping around and then not buying anything.

Full disclosure, I am no longer a MORE member as I am no longer local, I have a local, to me, club I support. I appreciate the work local clubs do ensuring trail access, repairing and building trail.

What bike shops do you own so all the MOREons can vote with their feet?

Who still says BOOYAH?Well, you really haven't defended your point very well.

Just to be clear, I'm not anti-LBS or pro-LBS. I just don't buy into the argument that "they are close to your house, therefore you should support them". If a local shop wants my business they can provide a superior product, either through service, price or a combination thereof. If their prices are high and their service mediocre, why would I "support" them?

C'mon to the area, Susie. I'll give you a private tour. Let you meet some of the people you take money away from everytime you shop online.
Then we see if you have the balls to call me an asshole to my face.
