No flames please. Assuming temps stay below freezing until later this afternoon - is a lunchtime snow-ride at Wakefield/Accotink out of the question due to current trail conditions?

Possibly. Parts were frozen Tuesday evening. Trails under tree cover would be the most likely to be frozen. Areas exposed to sunlight such as the climbs in the back, the whoops, and the berms would probably need to be avoided.
The bowl and the stream valley trail are your best bests for being in rideable condition.
Don't use the trailhead beside the tennis courts - this is a popular one and is always in bad shape this time of year.
There is a blow down on Phase II leaving the woods going into the open area the park isn't removing right away - keep an eye out for it.
The temp is supposed to rise throughout the day, but ground temp should lag behind with the cloud cover. Good luck.

If and when the snow actually starts AND once it starts covering the ground I may go out for a ride also.
I plan to try and use some good judgment as I start my ride. If the snow in my knobbies has mud, then I'll know that I'm disturbing the trail. Also, it's usually easy to tell if you’re trudging through snow or sinking into squishy stuff below.
As of this morning the ground was frozen.
