Default Display Mode

Just curious which one you prefer.

If you don't know what I'm referring to, simply click the "Display" Drop Down on the yellow bar at the top of every thread...

The winner will be set as the forum default.

I suspect most people are used to linear mode simply due to the fact it is currently the default, in fact in many cases its the default on most forums everywhere. I would also hazard a guess alot of people did not even know you could change the view.

Well, then this their opportunity to find out all about it.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of our users don't know half of the capabilities and options that can be set or changed via your user control panel...

Someone did bring it up though and that's why I posted the poll; Check out the forums in "unregistered" state and let me know if you see anything different.

Martin, I think your "tip of the day" in your signature block should show up on the log in page. I know all of the user tools are accessable but "User Nature" is change adverse.....give it to us in small chunks. And thanks for the hard work on the board, keep it up!

You mean on the home page? There are lots of entry points to the site - just curious where you are suggesting...

I may follow your suggestion and create a "tip of the week/month" so that users can find out all of the features we have...
