Date(s): Thursdays October 18, 2012 thru April 1, 2013.
Time: 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM.
Wheels roll at 7:45 PM
Requirements:
We are in the park after hours with special permission. Each ride must have a leader, a sweep and a person with a current first aid certification or the ride will not commence ( see RSVP list on MORE calendar entry ). You will need lights, a helmet, a working bike, weather appropriate clothing and a good attitude.
Use the RSVP tool on the MORE calendar entry!!! Please log in to the forum, surf to the date of the ride you wish to ride, use the RSVP tool near the bottom of the entry and when RSVP'ing please indicate if you are qualified to lead, sweep or provide first aid. for example: Sweep & First Aid.
Since most people will be new to riding the Woodstock Area the ride will vary from casual to moderate pace with a ride time of over 2 hours.
Quotes stolen from my ride leaders, used here to describe what you should expect: "Fresh leaves are falling, essentially "hiding" those rocks, roots, and small logs. If the leaves are a little damp, it's like ice when you tap your brakes around a corner. This is exponentially more challenging at night when your light is casting shadows and depth perception is a little skewed. Never mind the snow/ice rides! The Casual ride is a casual to moderate paced ride in moderate to technical terrain, requiring skills in navigating obstacles and the ability to consistently ride for more than 2 hours.
