The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is updating the Virginia Outdoor Plan (VOP) and wants to hear from you! This plan is an absolutely critical piece of the trail access process. When we applied for an RTP grant for Fountainhead, it was the VOP that was used to justify that grant. At the local level, the VOP lends credibility to trails initiatives and guides the work done by county and regional recreational resource planners. The content of this document is heavily influenced by the input DCR receives from state residents. The more people who show up asking for MTB trails, the more strongly the document will state the need.
